Library Research Instruction Session Request Form

Faculty may request a Library Instruction Session by:

  • Making a request in person

  • Making a request by phone or via e-mail (Downtown: Anita Woodruff at 312.341.3638; Schaumburg: Jo Ellen Coney at 847.619.7980)
  • Filling out the online request form below

Whatever method you use to request a session, you will be contacted by a librarian within 3 working days to confirm your session before it is scheduled. Do not assume your session has been scheduled until you have been contacted.

To provide you with the highest quality of instruction, we ask that you:

  • Make your request at least 2 weeks in advance

  • Provide the Department name| Course number| Number of students| Length of session
  • Consider the research skills your students need to develop and the types of information you want your students to locate, e.g. scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, primary sources, literature reviews, etc. See Information Literacy Learning Outcomes for details.
  • Inform of us if you have any students with special needs

The Library expects the instructor to attend the research session with the class in order for the session to be most productive in achieving relevant learning outcomes.
