Host is associate professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management. With over 25 years of experience in all facets of meetings and special events management, Bill brings a unique practical viewpoint to this aspect of the industry. He has particular interests in event logistics, experiential meetings, and the history of the meetings industry. Prior to joining Roosevelt University, Bill was president of HOST Meetings & Events Management, an independent meeting planning and logistics firm. A Certified Meeting Professional since 1990, Bill is a frequent presenter at industry events, a contributor to the International Encyclopedia Of Hospitality Management and has reviewed and contributed to a number of industry related textbooks. Bill co-authored and recently published his first book “Early Chicago Hotels” with Brooke Portmann, Ph.D. Bill was inducted into the Meeting Professionals International - Chicago Area Chapter’s Hall of Fame in 2006 and has been nominated in both 2006 and 2007 for PCMA’s (Professional Convention Management Association’s) Educator of the Year Award.
